Elijah Foulks goes by the alias “Knowle’ge” when it comes to matters of lyricism and Hip-Hop, believing firmly that music is a form of communication and contains a message for the audience to interpret.

The lyricism of Knowle'ge began in poetry and rap at age 7, but wasn’t consciously cultivated until 17. Hailing from Albany, NY, his greatest influences include his MC father, Shendew, his cousin Elijah Fiddemon – a producer who goes by the name “Stay Tune” –  and his good friend David “Dangerous” Turner, an MC who founded the Hip-Hop group “Death Before Dishonor”. All are responsible for exposing Knowle’ge to Hip-Hop in all its forms, stimulating his development as a writer/performer and showing him that a voice of truth would be taken seriously.

After graduating from SUNY Potsdam, Knowle’ge took a recess from recording to complete his Master’s Degree in English & Communications. Since flipping his tassel, the two solo projects he’s taken on will serve as his reintroduction into 518 Hip-Hop and set the stage for a life of music.
